MTV ha mostrado durante los MTV Movie Awards el primer featurette de "Kong: Skull Island".

La película estará protagonizada por Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L.Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Tian King, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Shea Whigham y Toby Kebbell. Será dirigida por Jordan Vogt-Roberts. El guión ha sido escrito por Max Borenstein, Dan Gilroy, John Gatins y Derek Connolly.
